SEPTEMBER 2024 UPDATE

Hey yall! Thank you for another successful season! We have no availability until February 2025. In September our lady's slow down because the temperature starts to drop and they begin molting. September is also the month I turn off all incubators and our kids start another year of homeschool.

My plan for the 2025 hatching season will go just like it did this year. We will not have a waitlist and there will be no preorders. I will make a post 1-2 times a week (probably on Sundays at 2pm eastern time) with any availability and ship the following day. This works best for our family and our schedule. 

In 2025, I will focus more on WHO WE ARE SHIPPING/SELLING TO. There were several customers that got very...creative...and tried to get away with sneaky stuff, which also means our "Do Not Sell" list got a little longer. Which is unfortunate, but they leave me no other option. Not everyone has good and honest intentions.

In 2025, we will continue to ONLY ship hatching eggs. We will not ship chicks. We met a lot of wonderful out of state folks that traveled to pick up their chicks and even had many come pick up their hatching eggs. ​

​We use the months December-February to do complete and thorough fertility tests on each breeding pen. If the fertility rate is lower than 93% we DO NOT sell them until we can get them increased.  We also use the off-season months to renew our NPIP and business certifications. ​

​

As much as I love breeding chickens and sharing our flock with yall, I am looking forward to a few months off. I have a rare skin disease that drastically limits my activity. But during the hatching season I push through it and my skin disease flares up (not smart, I know). I have been experimenting with different herbal remedies to find a cure or relief so that hopefully I can get to a point where I don't have to use steroid creams daily and frequent use of antibiotics.
